Cray's stock soars prior to halt on report of buyout talks with HP Enterprise
Shares of Cray Inc. CRAY, +0.68% soared 17% toward a three-year high in premarket trade Friday, prior to a trading halt, after a Bloomberg report that Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. HPE, +0.76% was in advanced talks to buy the supercomputer maker. Citing people with knowledge of the matter, the report out late Thursday said a deal could be announced as soon as this week. Cray's market capitalization at Thursday's closing price was $1.23 billion.
