Initial reports were that one person died at the scene and that five others were taken to hospitals. Details about the people killed and injured were not immediately available. The collision happened around 4:59 a.m. in the 3400 block of Joaquin Miller Road in the northbound lanes. One of the vehicles involved in the crash was an SUV, and the other was a sedan. It was not immediately known how many occupants were in each vehicle.
