Sadiq Khan and the Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley will meet leading mobile phone companies today to ask them to commit to 'design out' mobile phone robbery in an attempt to crackdown in the surge of thefts across London.
The London Mayor and police boss will meet representatives from Apple, Samsung and Google, along with major phone network providers at City Hall, in a bid to to find the most effective deterrent and ultimately significantly reduce mobile phone robberies.

Mr Khan said: 'This meeting is an important milestone to developing a practical and long-term solution to ending the menace of mobile phone crime, which we know is driving violence and criminality in our communities - not just in London but across the UK.
