CPS Energy blames dust and rain combination for power outages in San Antonio via expressnews
After a long period of dry weather, light rain and humidity mixed with dirt and dust build up on insulators can cause electricity to track over, CPS Energy said on Twitter. This can lead to a pole fire similar to these seen near Loop 410 and Boerne Stage Road and Sage Creek.customers are without power Monday morning because of a combination of dust and rain on power lines and equipment, the utility said.
As of 9 a.m., there were 96 outages affecting 9,063 customers. The majority of the outages appear to be areas near Balcones Heights and Live Oak, according to the utility’s
