The addition of new officers comes after another violent weekend in Chicago with 46 people shot and 10 killed.

The latest recruits of the Chicago Police Department took to the stage at Navy Pier for their graduation ceremony Monday morning.

During a speech, the mayor promised to work with the department to create a safer city for all residents. CBS 2 Investigator Megan Hickey was at the ceremony to ask Johnson about his plan to tackle summer violence. "Many of you all know that I've been very vocal about making sure that we train and promote more detectives," Johnson said."People in Chicago want us to solve violence crime in the city and there are strategic plans that are being implemented to get us to a better clearance rate."
