Armstrong met with the Coyotes in person before Friday's game against the Oilers in Edmonton.
By Chris Johnston, Pierre LeBrun and Daniel Nugent-Bowman general manager Bill Armstrong addressed the team on Friday in Edmonton, confirming that relocation is possible and telling players they’d be given a chance to visit Salt Lake City soon if the move ends up happening, multiple sources close to the situation confirmed to The Athletic.
The status report, per those sources, said that there are a lot of moving parts with the situation and stressed that no decisions had been finalized. Multiple league sources cautioned against framing relocation to Utah as a done deal at that point while confirming that those discussions are happening. While stressing that work needs to be done, one source said things could escalate quickly. “It’s a bit of a mess over there for years,” Oilers forward said postgame Friday.
