The Cowboys have reportedly blocked a request from the Eagles to interview their OC.

Eagles defensive back coach/ passing game coordinator Christian Parker finalizing deal to become Cowboys defensive coordinator. The Cowboys have reportedly blocked an Eagles’ request to interview offensive coordinator Klayton Adams for their vacant offensive coordinator position,While Adams is already an offensive coordinator and this would technically be a lateral move, he does not call the offensive plays in Dallas.

The Eagles’ offensive coordinator job has included that job responsibility since midway through the 2021 season when Sirianni gave up the reins. But teams are not required to allow their assistants under contract to interview for lateral jobs and the Cowboys shot this one down. Adams, 42, became the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator under Brian Schottenheimer in 2025 but has been in the NFL since 2019 and has some familiarity with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. Adams broke into the NFL in 2019 as an assistant offensive line coach with the Colts when Sirianni was the offensive coordinator under Frank Reich. Adams was the assistant O-line coach for two seasons and then became the tight ends coach in 2021, the same year Sirianni took the head coaching job in Philadelphia. After spending two years as the Colts’ OL coach, Adams spent 2023-2024 with the Cardinals as their OL coach under Jonathan Gannon . He left this past season for a promotion on Schottenheimer’s staff. In his one season in Dallas, the Cowboys ranked second in the NFL in yards and seventh in points. They had a high-flying passing attack that was also second in the NFL. The problem in Dallas this year was their awful defense. After moving on from Kevin Patullo after just one season, the Eagles are searching for their fifth offensive coordinator in six years under Sirianni. The Eagles’ search continues.
