Elliott was scheduled to make $10.9 million in 2023 but the Cowboys made him a post-June 1 cu, creating $6.04 million in salary cap space. Elliott will still count $5.82 million against the 2023 cap.In the offseason, Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones wouldn’t close the door on an Elliott return,It was part of Jones never saying no on a player because of how fluid the business of the NFL can be.
McCarthy said Elliott is “a really good fit” with the Patriots. Elliott will play behind Rhamondre Stevenson and will join younger players Pierre Strong, Kevin Harris and J.J. Taylor in New England.
