St Annes Town has seen an increase of 300 per cent for new cases
The seaside town of St Annes and parts of Preston have reported the highest spike in the Covid rate, Public Health England's most recent figures show.
Ashton-on-Ribble & Larches, in Preston, reported the highest percentage increase in the Covid rate. A total of 22 new cases have been reported in the seven days to January 7 representing a 450 per cent increase.The total number of new cases reported in Blackpool's South Shore in the seven days up to January 7 has risen by 21 cases, or 75 per cent, bringing the borough's rate up to 261.1.

It is currently spreading across the UK, with reports of the case already documented in the USA.
