PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia reported 71 more Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Apr 23), making it a whole week of double-digits in the country’s daily new infections.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 5,603, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced at the Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 media briefing on Thursday evening .
There are currently 42 patients being treated at intensive care units – one less than the day before. Out of the total, 21 are on ventilator support. On the new death cases, he said the 94th fatality was a 32-year-old healthcare worker who had a history of high blood pressure. She had been receiving treatment at Hospital Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom, Johor since April 6 and passed away at 12.36am on April 23.
