PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded three new Covid-19 cases on Monday (June 29), bringing the country’s total infections to 8,637.
All three cases are Malaysians, with one of them an import case involving an individual with recent travel history to New Zealand and Fiji.
The other two are local transmissions detected in Selangor and Sabah from the ministry’s Covid-19 screening exercise, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at the ministry’s Covid-19 press conference here Monday. Dr Noor Hisham also said 16 more cases have been discharged, which means 8,334 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in since the outbreak began.There are now only 182 active cases left being treated at health facilities nationwide.
Currently, there are four patients treated at intensive care units with one patient requiring ventilator support. Dr Noor Hisham announced no new deaths, which means the death toll remains at 121 cases for the 15th day in a row.
