Covid-19: Six new cases bringing total to 8,596, death toll remains at 121
Of the six new cases, four were local transmissions and another two were import cases, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham AbdullahHe also said 45 more cases have been discharged, which means 8,231 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.There are now only 244 active cases left being treated at health facilities nationwide.
Currently, there are two patients being treated at intensive care units and none are on ventilator support.All four local transmission cases are Malaysians and three are related to three new Covid-19 clusters -- the Hulu Langat condominium cluster, the Bukit Bintang cluster and the construction site cluster in Kuching.
On the Bukit Bintang cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry has detected 10 positive cases related to it, involving nine Bangladeshis and one Malaysian. Three positive cases were found related to the construction site cluster in Kuching -- a supervisor and two Indonesian workers. On the Hulu Langat condominium cluster, the index case is a tahfiz school student who was found positive following a health screening on June 8.Of the two import cases, one is a Malaysian returning from Mexico and the other was a permanent resident who came back from India.
