Singapore has confirmed 257 new cases of COVID19 infection, taking the country's total to 47,912.
Of the new cases, the vast majority are migrant workers residing in dormitories, said MOH in a news release on Sunday . Eight of the cases are from the community, of whom two are Singaporeans or permanent residents and six are work pass holders.
There are also five imported cases who have been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon their arrival in Singapore. In its nightly update on Saturday, MOH said the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 18 cases per day in the week before, to an average of nine per day in the past week.
