But the"decisions and their implications" will only be explained to South Africans later on Thursday, the health department said.The repeal targets three sections of the Regulations Relating to the Surveillance and the Control of Notifiable Medical Conditions.
In terms of the repeal, South Africans are no longer required to wear masks in indoor public places or on public transport. It also includes regulations for venues that were required to stick to 50% capacity for indoor gatherings on condition of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test. Solidarity said it was the second time the government"suddenly lifted" regulations before a court challenge.
