Children banned from native markets in Miri in stricter move by city council to prevent second Covid-19 attack. - Stephen Then/The StarThe Miri City Council made the decision during a full council meeting to tighten measures to prevent a second wave of Covid-19.
"The public and traders must adhere to these new norms at all markets and native tamus under the jurisdiction of the city council. Yii said this was the first full council meeting since the Covid-19 pandemic struck in early March. There have been two deaths and two dozen positive infections in Miri so far.
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sarawak Bumiputra Entreprenuers Council are involved.
