JOHOR BARU: Covid-19 Omicron variant BA.5.2 has been detected in Johor since May last year, with 474 cases reported until Jan 7 this year.
Johor Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon, however, said that the BF.7 variant had not been detected until Monday .“The recorded cases are in Johor Baru , Kulai , Muar , Kota Tinggi , Batu Pahat , Tangkak , Pontian and Segamat ,” he said in a statement Monday .
“We recorded 398,024 Covid-19 cases from Jan 14 last year to Jan 14 this year where 395,033 of the infections were local and 2,991 imported cases. Ling added that the infection pattern in the state does not show any huge spike in cases, and the hospital bed capacity is currently at 5%.
