COVID-19: EC health department refutes scathing report

According to the report unless the Eastern Cape rapidly increases its capabilities demand will exceed supply.

But the provincial health department says the report was based on the projection of a worst-case scenario.“The projections were not properly explained, that is the worst-case scenario,” said Thobile Mbengashe from the Eastern Cape Health Department.

“That's a scenario where there was no lockdown in the country and the province has done no other intervention and that would have come to those kind of levels but the post lockdown scenario is a very different scenario.
