JOHANNESBURG - Discovery Health announced findings on the double-dose Pfizer vaccine's effectiveness against the Omicron variant COVID-19 on Tuesday.

It found that effectiveness against infection of the vaccine reduced from 80 percent in the Delta wave to 33 percent in that of Omicron.Effectiveness against complication/hospital admissions reduced from 93% in the Delta wave to 70% percent for Omicron.Discovery Health finds that there is a 29% average lower admission risk relative to previous waves.
