PETALING JAYA: All surau located along toll plaza lay-bys and Rest Service Areas (R&Rs) will be closed with immediate effect, says PLUS Malaysia Berhad.
"This temporary closure in line with the order of the relevant authorities as a necessary precaution to eliminate the Covid-19 transmission through close proximity congregation," said PLUS in a statement on Friday .
PLUS also advised highway customers who require to travel on urgent matters to plan their journey properly and ensure that their Touch 'n Go card has sufficient balance to reach their destination. "Customers and their families are strongly encouraged to practise active social distancing when stopping to use public restrooms along PLUS Highways' rest service areas or at nearby petrol stations," it added.
Separately, LPT 2 Sdn Bhd said it is closing all surau located along its toll plaza lay-bys and R&Rs on the East Coast Expressway 2 with immediate effect.
