SINGAPORE — A 95-year-old Singaporean man died from COVID-19 complications on Friday (17 April), bringing the death toll here from the coronavirus to 11.
The man, identified as case 3,145, tested positive for the virus on Monday. His case was classified as local unlinked when the Ministry of Health released its daily update of coronavirus cases in Singapore on Tuesday.
In a statement on Friday, the MOH said Raffles Hospital has reached out to the man’s family and is extending assistance. On the same day, the MOH reported another 623 new cases in Singapore, taking the country’s total to 5,050. Of the 623 new cases, 558 are foreign workers living in dormitories. 27 are linked to local cases in the community and 37 are work permit holders residing outside dorms.
