PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia reported 31 more Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (May 20), bringing the country’s total number of infections to 7,009.
There were also no new deaths within the same 24-hour span, announced Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at the Health Ministry’s daily Covid-19 media briefing on Wednesday evening.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 60 more patients have been discharged, which means 5,706 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.There are now 1,189 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities at present. There are currently 11 patients being treated at intensive care units , with seven on ventilator support.This is the ninth day in a row that the number of new cases has been less than 50.
Of the 31 new cases on Wednesday, Dr Noor Hisham said 10 of them are imported cases, in which the patients were infected from abroad.Article type: free
