The single-storey, prefabricated block at Moat House Community Primary School was built "as a matter of urgency", according to a council report.
The building is set to be in place for four years, while a so-called "bulge" class of 30 pupils attends the school.The block, built in January, also includes a storeroom, toilet and reception area.A report in April said the city's overall school population had shot up by 1,500 in the last two years, and demand for places had soared as more people moved to the area.
