A Tempe mother was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of negligent homicide after her baby died of an apparent fentanyl overdose.
The mother of the baby, Gabrielle Marshall, 32, made comments about the baby getting into her"unknown opiates," court documents say. Emergency responders administered Narcan and took the baby to a hospital, where the child died. Court document state that around that time, Marshall called and texted a friend asking for Narcan and saying her baby ate her pills and was dead. She then deleted those messages from her phone.
