2News Investigates has obtained court audio in the Kent Cody Barlow double murder case that shows his defense attorney wants the trial postponed because he has

a family member who has an aggressive form of cancer and has been given weeks to live.

Initially his recording wasn't listed on the court docket because it wasn’t put on the calendar for the judge to hear. When Barlow’s public defender Benjamin Aldana filed a motion to postpone the trial on Monday July 15, that went unanswered by the court he contacted the court to see if he could appear online.
