Couple whose child found them dead in East County residence identified [Breaking]
Sheriff’s officials on Friday released the names of a married couple whose child found them dead in an El Cajon-area residence this week.
Helen Orpinela, 39, and Eric Orpinela, 42, had each sustained head trauma, Homicide Lt. Joseph Jarjura said in a news release. He did not say how they died, but said there are “no outstanding suspects and there is no threat to the community.”Jarjura said the couple had three children, ages 9, 13, and 14. One of the three children called authorities about 9:45 a.m. Thursday and reported that“The children were not injured and are being cared for,” he said.
The deaths remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Homicide Unit at 285-6330 during business hours, or after hours at 565-5200.
