Couple vow to never fly TUI again after being barred from plane for not having year left on passports
A frustrated couple has vowed to never fly with TUI again after being refused on-board their flight due to not having a year left on their passports.
However, when they arrived at East Midlands Airport they were shocked to be told by the airline that due to them not having a year left on their passports, they would be unable to fly. Penny told Nottinghamshire Live: "We just turned up and were waiting an hour in the queue when the girl on the checkout said to another girl, can you check those dates. She checked and said no they can't fly. Then a bloke came over, a supervisor I believe, and he said our only alternative is to go to Jet2 and ask them if we can fly."
Each of the couple's passports expire in February 2024, nine months after the holiday they had planned. They eventually managed to go on holiday at a later date with Jet2 at an additional cost of £860 - but they were not able to be refunded for the TUI flights or transfers.
