A San Francisco couple received a $180 traffic ticket for parking in a red zone that was allegedly painted after the car was already parked.
Jeff and Desiree Jolly have parked their car on the same curb in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood over the last 25 years, the couple told ABC. However, when the couple walked to their car in mid-July, they noticed a ticket on their windshield for parking in front of a red curb. But they say the curb was not painted when they initially parked their car.
"If it was warranted, I don't have a problem with it, but this seems unfair to me," Desiree Jolly said. However, officials with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency argued the ticket was not in relation to the newly painted zone, according to the outlet. Instead, the car was parked in a section of the curb that already had faded red paint.
The couple has contested the ticket, and the final decision on whether to enforce the fine is set to be decided by the citation clerk.
