During an interview with Fox News Digital, Cooke — who is gearing up to launch her Baby Blues World Tour — explained that she's been diagnosed with Brugada syndrome. This genetic heart condition is very rare and potentially fatal and can cause dangerous irregular rhythms and sudden cardiac arrest. "It's like young, healthy people that actually are the ones that end up passing away from it just out of nowhere. So, it's a little scary.
"Cooke explained that it feels like a cloud of fear is constantly following her because she never knows if she could go into cardiac arrest. "It's like young, healthy people that actually are the ones that end up passing away from it just out of nowhere. So, it's a little scary.
""One of my cousins who also has Brugada syndrome, we were talking about it for a while, and he was like, 'Hey, if you believe in God, which I do, your time is going to be your time no matter what. So whether it's this or something else, just live your life and treat people well and hope for the best,'" Cooke said.
"It could be my last because you just never know, all of us in this room, we never know when it's your last. So just do your best and... If that's what takes me, that's all right," she shared. Now, Cooke is set to hit the road for her biggest headlining trek yet with The Baby Blues World Tour, a 28-date international run supporting her upcoming self-titled sophomore album, due August 14.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Cooke said that the tour is going to be the"best season" of her life yet.
"I mean, obviously every city is going to feel huge and different and cool and like a level up from where we've been before, but yeah, it's really cool to know that I'm playing these rooms that I've dreamed of playing for so long on my own headline tour," she began. Cooke added,"The music on this album is something I'm so proud of, and I just cannot wait for everybody to hear it. And learn the words and sing along.
And it's just, I have a feeling it's gonna be the best tour yet, the best season of my life yet. "
