Jamey Johnson performs a medley during a lifetime achievement award tribute to George Strait during the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Jamey Johnson was advertised for Wednesday’s CMA s as part of the show’s tribute to legendary singer George Strait, and Jamey Johnson showed up.
Considering the headlines swirling around him this week — he was arrested back on Nov. 17 in Tennessee — that might have surprised some. His bond was set at $500,000.
Johnson recently made headlines with the release of “Midnight Gasoline,” which included the song “Sober,” that gave a real-life look into Johnson’s battle with the bottle years ago.“I barely survived,” Johnson told the site. “Alcohol was an incendiary way of destroying myself. Everything just went up in flames and you couldn’t put the fire out, you just had to wait for it all to come to ashes and then try to rebuild when you get done.
