2. A Focus On Skills Over Formal Education
At the same time, we’re seeing a shift in hiring focus from job seekers with formal education to job seekers with particular skills. Our data shows over 2.4 million vacancies open to those without a college degree — that’s over half of the jobs currently on offer. There is a massive opportunity for upskilling and reskilling U.S. workers, and this is likely to come into its own over the next year or so. Companies that can offer on-the-job training will hugely widen their talent pool. There is also an observable general trend toward inclusivity and a move away from education bias. Of all the talent in hot demand, digital skills are right at the top of the list.
