The property agent is taking Manchester council to court
Manchester council has denied claims that its chief executive called a property agent a 'massive Jewish b***end'.
The property investors, who own prime sites across the city centre, are currently suing the Greater Manchester Combined Authority over multi-million pound loans given to skyscraper tycoons Renaker. They also took Manchester council to court last year. Now, Mr Rose is taking the council to court himself, claiming for damages and unlawful discrimination.
A Manchester council spokesperson said: "We are aware that a claim has been issued and it has been robustly defended. The allegation is denied and it would be inappropriate to comment further pending the determination of the action." "I firmly believe that antisemitism should have no place in our society, particularly so in public authorities, and I now place my faith in the British justice system to establish whether Manchester City Council and its officers have conducted themselves in a manner that constitutes unlawful discrimination. I hope I can play a small part in taking a stand against racism by ensuring that the alleged use of antisemitic language is properly investigated.
