In fact, a prenup is likely to limit Sanchez’s access to Bezos’s money in the event a divorce, with one top attorneyshe might only bring in around $1 million a year, for “every year married.” Apparently, this amount, and setting a fixed payment schedule tied to the length of a marriage, is pretty standard when it comes to prenups for high-net-worth individuals, said Brett Ward, a New York City-based matrimonial and family law attorney.
“He can be sufficiently generous to her financially while at the same time saving the cost of an extended, costly, and likely public trial if the marriage does not work out,” Ward said.
