Waiting for the next installment of Fourth Wing , Onyx Storm , has been tough for me and all the fans of Rebecca Yarros ' incredible fantasy series. After the cliffhanger about Xaden 's fate in Iron Flame, it seems the next installment will dig even further into the secrets Xaden has been keeping from Violet . One of my favorite parts of the book is the romance between Violet and Xaden , as the building tension and opposing loyalties have made them a compelling fantasy couple.
If there will be bonus content within the universe, I think it should focus on this story angle. There are many theories about what the Fourth Wing secret project might be and how this will tie into the highly anticipated publication of Onyx Storm. Yarros has released some bonus chapters, and they've tackled Xaden's perspective on different parts of Fourth Wing, which has opened my eyes to his side of the story. It's not always easy to trust Xaden, as the reader and Violet both know that there's always something going on beneath the surface. However, if Yarros gives us insight into how his mind works, it would be just like another romantic fantasy series, Twilight. Since all the original novels gave us insight into what Bella was thinking, but never Edward, it was an exciting switch-up. After the explosive popularity of Midnight Sun, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that other romantasy authors learned from Meyer and decided to draw readers in with an unexpected companion book that delves into the love interests' mind
