have held internal discussions about signing free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., a person with knowledge of the talks said Sunday.
Cowboys’ officials want to know about Beckham’s health, particularly when he’ll be available to play in a NFL game, before making any final decisions. “Just because you don’t make a trade, that’s not the only way you acquire players. Certainly we can continue to look for ways to make our team better and we will.”
Team officials are not concerned if Beckham isn’t available to them at some point in the second half of the year. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has cited left tackle Tyron Smith and wide receiver James Washington potential returns in the latter part of the season as positives. Signing Beckham could have a similar impact.
