San Francisco mayoral candidates will mull strategy as Election Day nears

That leaves Supervisor Ahsha Safai and Breed as the only remaining candidates with a substantive political resume. Peskin has publicly credited Safai as someone he’s been able to work with on the Board of Supervisors, though polling has indicated that, to this point, Safai has struggled to generate significant support.

Breed is leaning into the yes-in-my-backyard contingent of The City, which has disavowed Peskin as the housing antichrist. Aligning herself with Peskin could be off-putting to the housing advocates who have embraced Breed.
