18,000 Costco Teamsters workers are poised to strike if a 'fair contract offer' is not presented by January 31, 2025. The Teamsters union, representing workers in six states, overwhelmingly voted to authorize the strike after negotiations with Costco failed to reach a new three-year agreement by the midnight Friday deadline. Union members are demanding a contract that reflects Costco's significant sales and profit growth, citing the company's $254 billion revenue and $7.36 billion net income in its latest fiscal year. Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien warned Costco that if they attempt to exploit their workers while raking in billions, the union will be prepared to shut them down.
