Mr Tabiri, who works as a security guard, said his family were forced to move in with a friend because of the financial burden of the visa process, meaning the entire family were “living confined in one room”. Mr Tabiri was able to apply for a fee waiver on his most recent visa renewal with the help of a charity named Praxis, but he knows “so many people like me that are really struggling”.
New research published by Praxis, the Institute for Public Policy Research and Greater Manchester Immigration Aid has revealed how families have been affected by the process.
