The City of San Antonio has received a $8 million grant to improve the overall safety of Culebra Road, according to a press release.
DPS approved funding to 148 RAISE grant recipients across the country, and the Culebra Road Project was one of four Texas projects selected, the release said.–
Some potential upgrades to Culebra Road include protected sidewalks, bike facilities, trees, upgraded transit facilities, crosswalks, and intersections. “This $8 million investment from the Biden-Harris administration will kickstart a much-needed transformation to make Culebra Road safer for the thousands of people who rely on it every day. My office was honored to work with the City of San Antonio to make the case for our RAISE Grant proposal, and I look forward to seeing this project move forward as soon as possible,” said Castro.
