Corrie's Stephen star Todd Boyce's life off-screen and why he has American accent
Since returning to the iconic soap last year, Coronation Street’s killer Stephen Reed has rocked the cobbles, and put viewers at home on the edge of their seats numerous times, with some of them branding the plots he's involved in as "ridiculous".

However, the actor hails far from the cobbles of Weatherfield, as he was actually born in Columbus, Ohio in the US. He was then brought up in upstate New York, Germany, Chicago and Brazil. Since then, he’s travelled the world working in film, theatre and TV, hence his amalgamation of dialects. Alongside Corrie, Todd has also played parts in other shows, including E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls, Hollyoaks as Herb Carter, BBC drama Sherlock as Neilson, Netflix’s The Crown, and 2013’s Mr Selfridge as Mr Crenell.
