The Owen Armstrong star spoke about his time on the soap in an exclusive interview with the ECHO
Coronation Street's Ian Puleston-Davies shared his love for Liverpool as he revealed why he set his first film in the city.
Ian hails from Flint but admitted he is Liverpudlian at heart and he even has notes from the songsheet of Eleanor Rigby tattooed on his bicep. The filmmaker said he has always been inspired by Merseyside's rich cultural heritage and this meant he was compelled to set his first film in the region.
Liverpool is enjoying a filming boom as Bolan's Shoes was shot in the city at a similar time as the blockbuster production of The Batman. Ian said it is no surprise that productions are now choosing Merseyside as their home as it's the city's time to shine on the screen. He said: "There is tragedy in the film but within that there is humour. You can't make a film set in Liverpool without some smiles and laughter. A sense of humour is part of Liverpool's DNA and it would be very unrepresentative of me if I didn't show that in the film."
