Coronation Street fans have made it clear how they want the Stephen Reid story to conclude as they declare his 'time is up'. Weatherfield's latest villain has been rubbing viewers of the ITV soap up the wrong way ever since he returned from Milan last year.
His first murder came after Leo got close to exposing his money-making scheme. Stephen pushed him to his death in a wheelie bin after they got into a tussle on the Underworld factory steps. A couple of months later, after he realised that his son wasn't in Canada and had started to do some digging, Stephen killed Leo's dad Teddy with a hole punch.
However, this week, Corrie fans have seen the net start to close in on Stephen after Leo's body was found. At the start of the week, on the site of his and his brother's new development project, Ed noticed the digger driver looked troubled and hurried over to check what was going on. Then, just as Ronnie arrived at the building site, he saw Ed talking to a uniformed PC Craig Tinker and Ronnie soon found himself peering into the hole where the digger had unearthed a dead body.
Later at the pub, Stephen pressed Ed for more details after Glenda Shuttleworth was heard gossipping over whether it was a woman's body that was found. But when Ed confirms that it was definitely a man’s body, Stephen’s heart sank and it wasn't long before Craig Tinker arrived and broke the news to Jenny that the body found was that of Leo's. Stephen was then taken to the police station for questioning after being the last known person to have contact with Leo.
