An inquest has been opened into the death of a Nottinghamshire woman who was found dead in her home. Rachel McDaid, 53, was found dead in her home on Nottingham Road, Eastwood , on Friday, April 19.
A post-mortem has been carried out and the provisional cause of death has been recorded as 1 ligature strangulation. Opening the inquest at Nottingham Council House on Monday, June 17, coroner Hartley said: "In accordance with my statutory duty, I have now opened an inquest touching into her death. A trial is due to start on September 23 after Mrs McDaid's husband, Michael McDaid, 60 and formerly of Nottingham Road, Eastwood, was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday, April 21. He was charged with possession of a class-B drug and remains in police custody.
