Is the government prepared if there's a second wave of COVID19? Professor Jonathan Van-Tam says 'we are absolutely hoping not to have a second wave' but it's 'absolutely right and proper to prepare for emergencies'. More here:

Two household bubble plan 'under review'

He says"we're learning all the way" during this crisis but adds"we are making good progress" on testing and the track and trace trial.Prof Van-Tam adds testing"will inform contact tracing" and that"we need to do it bigger and faster, and as fast as we can".

He adds the rate of infection is"possibly a little lower" in younger aged children but the"data are pretty sparse" on if children can transmit the virus to adults."Children are not these kind of big high-output transmitters as they are with flu."Raab says each step is a"balanced assessment" and it's"still our intention" for it to be rolled out"in the weeks ahead".

Raab says the government is being"very mindful" of a second peak and minister won't"sanction" any measures that take the R number - the average amount of people someone with the virus passes is on to - above one. He admits"the last couple of months have been really tough" but adds it's only by keeping to the plan, including when rules change, that"we will beat coronavirus for good".17:05He repeats there is still a"very real risk of a second peak" so people should continue social distancing.Raab says of the UK's next coronavirus phase that"of course people have concerns, they have questions".

Only a"very small number of children are badly affected", he says, adding:"That means parents can be confident if they send their child to school that's a safe environment for you."Tory MP Darren Henry says the outbreak means there's a danger of other diseases reemerging if other vaccinations are missed.

"One of the things we've learnt I think as a nation is that things are best delivered with people working together public and private sector."'True' there is a link between deprivation and higher virus risk Hancock says he's"surprised" at some of her questions given he's working closely with the Scottish government.

He repeats that if there is an"outbreak in an area" the government will be"perfectly prepared to take action in that area".Hancock says everyone needs to self-isolate if they or someone in their household has symptoms, to keep washing their hands and stay alert. "evermore people will have the confidence and certainty that comes with an accurate test result," he pledges. The health secretary is now giving his statement - which will be eight minutes long to allow as many MPs to ask questions as possible.

At an executive meeting on Monday, ministers gave the go-ahead for outdoor gatherings of four to six people from outside the same household and the reopening of places of worship for solitary prayer. Drive-in religious services are also to be allowed. Tory MP and transport select committee chair Huw Merriman asks if"air bridges" to let people coming from countries with R rates below one could be exempt from the two-week quarantine proposed.

The Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says there are"still some commercial routes available" but charter flights are being organised on a daily basis to bring those remaining back. He confirms there are 20,000 people still to repatriate.

Rishi Sunak says those sectors have received"the most direct support" available from the government through cash grants and business rate holidays. Some countries, including the US, have already added the symptom to help clinicians spot potential patients.
