Dominic Raab has said there is an"incredibly strong team spirit" behind Boris Johnson after he was moved to intensive care with worsening coronavirus symptoms.

The Foreign Secretary, who will"deputise where necessary", according to No 10, said the prime minister is in"safe hands" and has been receiving"excellent care". He said the government was focused on"making sure we can defeat coronavirus" and that business will continue. Prime Minister Mr Johnson, 55, is understood to be conscious and was moved to intensive care at about 7pm as a precaution should he require ventilation to aid his recovery.
