Sixteen team members from the WHO surge team have arrived in South Africa.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says they’ll be providing fresh eyes to the country's COVID-19 situation.

Mkhize was speaking as he welcomed the first members of the World Health Organization surge team to South Africa.They'll be helping government with its COVID-19 response. "The 16 team members have now arrived in the country and when the team is complete there will be 43.
