Crisis, a charity that supports homeless people, revealed the"unprecedented" move was made in a letter sent to all local authorities.Rough sleepers have faced a particularly tough time in recent weeks given the latest lockdown advice for people to stay at home.

But on Thursday a housing department official reportedly wrote to homelessness managers and rough sleeping coordinators:"As you know, this is a public health emergency."We are all redoubling our efforts to do what we possibly can at this stage to ensure that everybody is inside and safe by this weekend, and we stand with you in this.
