Announcing handouts of £300m to upgrade A&E facilities in England, the PM said the govt is making hospitals safer and reducing the risk of infection from COVID19

And in a bid to give people more confidence to go to A&E, Mr Johnson said 117 NHS trusts will receive funding to help prepare for winter and reduce the risk from further outbreaks of the virus.

Projects will be completed by the start of next year so hospitals benefit from the upgrades during the peak of winter. "These upgrades will help our fantastic NHS prepare for the winter months, helping them to deliver essential services and reduce the risk of coronavirus infections.
