Daniel portrays vicar Billy Mayhew in the show, who is currently caring for husband Paul Foreman , who has motor neurone disease. Billy and Paul are also the adopted parents of Summer Spellman, played by Harriet Bibby. Recently, a special episode of the ITV soap aired that focused solely on their storyline.
When Billy believed that Paul had asked for him to take him to the loo, Paul grew upset, revealing that he’d actually been trying to tell Billy that he loved him. The instalment also saw Paul tell Billy in incredibly emotional scenes that he didn’t want to end his life anymore. A few days later, Paul confirmed that he wanted ‘to go on living for as long as I can, however I can. I’m going to let nature take its course.
