When actress Paula Wilcox joined the cast of Coronation Street as Elaine Jones, the supposedly dead mother of Tim Metcalfe, she never thought she’d be wrapped up in a serial killer plot – but she’s loving every minute of it.
The cobbles murderer, Stephen Reid, pushed Leo off the Underworld balcony, killed Teddy with a hole-punch and drowned Rufus in his own swimming pool. “She knows that he’s bad but she suddenly realises that he’s really bad. She goes into a tailspin at that point and from then on, she really sees the light. Elaine’s also really scared, especially when Tim doesn’t come back for a while.”
