When it comes to making it big on stage, it isn't always glamorous - and Coronation Street star and singer Jodie Prenger knows exactly that, as she was once shockingly shot with a BB gun
Jodie Prenger might be storming screens on Coronation Street as Rovers Return barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth - who is currently suing her brother George as they feud over their dad’s will - but her real life is just as chaotic as any situation her character might find herself in.
In recent years she has starred on the West End stage, but until then Jodie spent 10 years trying to make it as a singer on the club and cabaret circuit, while working as a nail technician to make ends meet. And that's where some of her most bizarre moments happened. “I walked into one club and it smelt of wee. At another they were still throwing darts on the stage while I was trying to set up. At one booking in Wales, I was the support act for Joe Pasquale, but then you’d have to go to this other venue and there were kids with BB guns firing at you while you were singing!".
These days, however, in between filming for Corrie, the star admitted she’s at her happiest surrounded by her menagerie and when we asked her to tell us what tops her bucket list, it isn’t being awarded a Bafta or National Television Award. Instead, she’d love nothing more than to take ownership of a pet pig!
